permanent make up

Permanent make up is a new developement and is also known as cosmetic tatooing. It is implanting colour into the pigment of your skin .The procedure does cause a tingly feeling and may be a little painful. I think that this new method of cosmetics is a good idea because it avoids having to "put your face on" everyday.

After breast reconstruction surgery, women sometimes have it done, so their breasts have a more natural appearance. It can also hide scarring from accidents.

I think its quite a drastic step to do, just to look good. Permanent make up is very expensive. For example, to get permanent eye liner, can cost 700 euros! Permanent make up can cause many problems. Allergic reactions to the inks include swelling, tenderness, itching and bumps on the skin. There are many manufacturers for the inks but the main ones are made in China and Taiwan.

Tattoo artists don't generally do permanent make up and if you were to get it done, the services of a cosmetic technician would be required. There are many risks associated with this procedure, as you may not like the end results, you can get infections, and if the technition doesn't follow safety procedures (sterilising needles, using freshly opened ink and a new needle) it can cause HIV/AIDS or hepatitus .

In black inks there are different chemicals (depending on the manufacturer) such as magnetite crystals, powdered jet, wustite, bone black, amorphous carbon (soot). Black pigment is often made into India ink.
Logwood is a heartwood extract from Haematoxylon campechisnum, found in Central America and the West Indies. It is a heavy wood, red in colour, containing a crystalline substance called haematoxylin, which is often used in dyeing. Extracts from this wood are used in medicine as an astringent ( a substance that causes biological tissue to contract and draw together) .
